Prabgun for College Admissions: From Research to Application

The college admissions process runs for months, and most of it is not writing. It is research, list-making, checking requirements, keeping track of deadlines and moving the right material into the right place at the right time. That organizational work is easy to underestimate and costly to get wrong.

This guide follows the process from the first look at a school to recording a decision, and shows where Prabgun fits at each stage. It is also clear about where Prabgun stops: Prabgun helps you prepare, but it does not replace your school counselor, a college's admissions office, the official application system or professional advice — and it never submits an application for you.

Stage 1: Research schools with official information

Good research starts from what each college actually publishes. In Prabgun's admissions area, Schools lets you look a school up and see the information Prabgun holds for it — its requirements, essay prompts and published details — for the level, program and admissions cycle you choose. Each requirement Prabgun has verified shows the official source it came from, so you can check it yourself.

Two things are worth knowing as you research:

• Coverage varies. Prabgun has not verified requirements for every school or program. Where it has not, it says so rather than showing you an empty list. Don't see your target university yet? We're actively adding more universities and application requirements. Check back soon.
• The college's own website is the final word. Requirements change between cycles. Treat anything you find — in Prabgun or anywhere else — as something to confirm on the official site.

Research is also where your own priorities belong: programs you are interested in, location, cost, size and the kind of place you want to spend the next few years. Prabgun does not rank schools or tell you where you will get in, and nobody can say that with certainty. Your counselor is the right person to talk your list through with.

Stage 2: Organize your list

Once you have a shortlist, add each school under My Applications. An application in Prabgun is one school, one program and one admissions cycle — the application year, which starts on August 1. Keeping the cycle explicit matters: requirements for one year are not always the same as the next.

For the applications you are actively preparing, start Application Builder. Each one becomes a workspace with sections for your information, program details, requirements and deadlines, plus sections such as essays, testing, recommendations and documents where that application has something behind them.

Your plan sets how many applications you can build per admissions cycle: 2 on Free, 7 on Plus and unlimited on Pro. The pricing page has the details.

Stage 3: Understand and track each school's requirements

The Requirements section of each application lists what Prabgun holds for that school, with the official source and when each item was verified and last checked. Every application is labelled Verified Application, Partially Verified or Builder Available, describing how much of the school's official requirements Prabgun has verified — not how finished your application is.

As you work, mark requirements done. If a requirement changes after you have reviewed it, the application tells you what changed, and nothing you wrote is altered. If something looks wrong, report it from the Requirements section so a person can check it against the official source — and follow the school's official application in the meantime.

The Deadlines section keeps each application's dates in view. Different schools and application plans can have very different dates, so check each one against the official site as well.

Stage 4: Prepare your application materials

Much of an application is information you already have: your details, your school, your academic record and what you do outside class. In Application Builder, Personal Information and Academic Information can copy values from your Prabgun profile, so you enter them once and reuse them, while still being able to use a different value for one school.

If you keep your clubs, sports, volunteering and jobs in Student Life, the Activities section can draw on them. Describing an activity well — what you did, your role, the time it took — is much easier when you recorded it as it happened rather than reconstructing it months later.

Files for an application, such as a résumé or a transcript you were asked to upload, can be attached as PDFs, images or text files. They count toward your plan's storage like any other upload.

Stage 5: Work through your essays

Essays deserve the most time and the most drafts. In Prabgun, each essay sits with its prompt and word limit, and every save keeps a version so you can compare drafts and return to an earlier one.

A few habits help:

• Start early and write badly first. A rough draft you can revise beats a perfect opening sentence you are still waiting for.
• Answer the prompt that was asked. Reread it after every major revision.
• Reuse carefully. An essay for one school can be a starting point for another, but check that every school-specific detail has been changed.
• Ask a person to read it. A teacher, counselor or someone who knows you well will catch things software cannot.

Prabgun does not write your essays. Where it is available on your account, feedback on a draft can point out what to strengthen, but the writing — and every decision about it — is yours.

Stage 6: Check readiness before you submit

Before submitting, open Application Readiness. It checks one application across six areas — content, official requirements, documents, verification, consistency and submission preparation — and groups anything open as Blocking, Worth fixing or Worth checking.

Consistency is easy to overlook and worth taking seriously: an essay that names the wrong school or program is a common, avoidable mistake when you are applying to several places at once.

Readiness measures preparation, not your chances of admission. Even “Ready for your final human review” means only that Prabgun found nothing it can check still missing. Where it is available on your account, Application Coach can add feedback on clarity, program fit and consistency, and its suggestions are advice rather than official requirements.

Stage 7: Submit on the official application

You submit, not Prabgun. When an application is ready:

1. Open the Submission Packet in Submission Preparation. It gathers your saved answers, essays with their prompts and word counts, requirements, files and deadlines.
2. Open the school's official application — Open Official Application does this where Prabgun holds a verified link — or go to it from the school's official admissions website.
3. Copy your prepared answers and essays in, upload your files there, and submit it there yourself.

Prabgun never needs your password for a school portal or shared application system. Never type one into Prabgun.

Stage 8: Track what happens next

Back in Prabgun, Mark as Submitted records the date and your confirmation details, and keeps a frozen Submitted Version of what you recorded. From there you can note fees, the status portal, interviews and next steps, and record a decision or a withdrawal when it arrives.

Prabgun shows what you recorded; it does not receive updates from schools. Check each school's official portal for news, and keep an eye on your email for requests for more information.
